Because it is a vegetable tanned leather, especially in the beginning of this bags lifetime it is reacting with water by shrinking and stiffening. The first few months, the oil will react with the leather and the fiber will be soften up while the leather gains its natural resistance to water.

Be careful wearing your bag strong contrasted clothes as especially our western and suede leather is sensible on colors as they could rub off.
